FamilyRX ("the app", "we", "our") is developed by an individual developer, Asif Bashar. This policy explains what information the app collects, how it's used, and who it's shared with.
When you scan or upload a photo of a prescription label, everything happens on your device: Apple's built-in text recognition reads the label, and on devices with Apple Intelligence, Apple's on-device model sorts that text into fields like medication name and dosage. Nothing from a scan — neither the photo nor its text — is sent to us or to anyone else. The photo is shown to you on the review screen for your own comparison, then discarded. Only the fields you review and choose to save become part of your records.
Solely to provide the app's own functionality: storing your medication, appointment, allergy, condition and vaccination records, enabling family sharing exactly as you configure it, verifying your identity, and processing your subscription. We do not sell your information, and we do not use it for advertising.
The medication, appointment, allergy, condition, vaccination and note information in FamilyRX is consumer health data. How we collect, use and share it, and your rights over it, are set out in our separate Consumer Health Data Privacy Policy.
We do not share your information with any other third party, and we do not sell it.
A "dependent" profile (e.g. for a child, or an adult you manage care for) has no login of its own — it's entirely managed by the adult guardian(s) who create and share access to it. FamilyRX does not knowingly collect information directly from children; a dependent's information is entered and controlled by their adult guardian(s), who can give other family members view access. If a dependent gets their own account (they must be at least 13), a guardian can link it to their profile so they can view their own records; their guardians stay in charge of those records.
FamilyRX accounts are not for children under 13, and we don't knowingly let children under 13 create one. If you believe a child under 13 has created an account, contact us and we'll delete it.
We keep your information for as long as your account exists. You can delete your account and its data at any time in the app (Account > Delete My Account). This also revokes the app's Sign in with Apple access. Records you added about someone else stay with that person, and notes you left on others' records stay (shown as from a "Former family member"). If you're the only guardian of a dependent or pet, you'll be asked to choose another family member to take over; if no one does, the dependent or pet and their records are deleted. When you delete your account, we keep a small record that you confirmed it: a one-way scrambled form of your Apple user ID (it can't be turned back into the ID), the date and time, which version of the confirmation you agreed to, how many records were deleted, and the reason you picked, if any. It contains no health information, name or email address. You can also ask for deletion by emailing asifub@gmail.com.
Sign in with Apple credentials are cryptographically verified against Apple's own published keys — we never simply trust a client-asserted identity. Each device you sign in on has its own session, which expires after 90 days without use, and only a fingerprint of it is stored on our servers. That said, no method of storage or transmission is 100% secure, and we can't guarantee absolute security.
If your health information is ever accessed without authorization, we'll notify you without unreasonable delay, and notify regulators where the law requires it (including under the FTC's Health Breach Notification Rule).
If this policy changes materially, we'll update the "Last updated" date above.
